The launch of “Nothing is More Real than Nothing ”, an exhibition that will feature new works by Filipino artist Gerardo Tan, will take place on 1 September 2015 at the Archivo 1984 Gallery in Makati City, Manila, Philippines.

GERARDO TAN (Filipino, born 1960) works across media from painting, collage and artist books to video and found objects in room-sized installations. His materials range from traditional ones like oil, acrylic to commonplace ones found like found photographs, dust, mirrors, and bundy clocks. Tan’s works deals with issues of representation and conceptual plays. He recreates images culled from the world of art and mass media using a variety of mediums in order to subvert hierarchies and give way to new itinerant meanings.

The “Nothing is More Real than Nothing” exhibition will run from September 1 to 26, 2015.
