The second edition of "From Sampiro to Makati: A Community's Journey of Faith and Struggle" tells the coming story of cultural and heritage conservation in the country's premiere financial city.

It explores the various perspectives of the citizens themselves residing in the heritage area, and the city government in its effort to make culture and history meaningful for people and business amid the seeming contradictory directions of urban growth and rapid advances in technology.

Makati is in many senses a true global city, in that it is home to the local and regional offices and branches of international business as well as foreign embassies and consular offices. But it is also mandated to preserve its distinct Filipino character and ethos in the middle of its cosmopolitan expansion and the march of globalization.
