"I write only when my heart is full. It is my way of reaching out to people, emptying my overflowing heart into theirs. There are long stretches of time when I don't write at all and there are short periods when I write a lot. It doesn't matter. What is important is that my writings do not speak to the wind but to human beings who find life in my words and phrases."

Joey A. Bermudez is a CEO, banker, educator, social entrepreneur, development worker, and family man, in reverse order of importance.

Poverty during childhood conditioned many of his views on economics, politics, and society. In 2009, he was elected President of the Management Association of the Philippines, the biggest aggrupation of CEO's, COOs, and business owners in the Philippines. He is passionate about issues on corporate social responsibility and good governance.

Left Jab is a collection of Bermudez' writings in the last five years.

When he writes, Bermudez is not scared to confront, cajole, and whip up a firestorm. He believes that irreverence is desirable when one seeks clarity. He sees intellectual laziness in orthodoxy. He hopes that his first book will help push out the constricting boundaries of conventional thinking.
