Silanganan presents the Far Eastern University story as an aesthetic experience whereby FEU’s aspirations of Fortitude, Excellence, and Uprightness are poised as a collective response to the anesthetizing rituals of the every day.
Published on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Far Eastern University, this book authored by Cid Reyes documents the University’s artistic heritage and collection of Philippine art. Founded by Dr. Nicanor Reyes, Sr. in 1928, the FEU campus in Manila is considered as an ‘open museum’, with several UNESCO heritage buildings in the Art Deco style. Among its prized collection of paintings and sculptures are masterpieces by National Artists Carlos ‘Botong’ Francisco, Vicente Manansala, Fernando Amorsolo, Cesar Legaspi, and Napoleon Abueva.
